The Leukaemia Foundation runs regular online support groups, free of charge and 100% confidential.
They are facilitated by an experienced Blood Cancer Support Coordinator.
The support groups cover a range of subjects. Upcoming support groups for June are outlined below.
7 June and 23 June : ‘Vulnerability and Resilience’
Everyone experiences some level of vulnerability when faced with a hazard, trauma or disaster. The diagnosis of a blood cancer is certainly an event that challenges a person’s health, wellbeing and capacity to cope. Resilience is the ability for a person to overcome traumatic events that impact health and well-being. In this session the group will explore what it means to be vulnerable in the context of a blood cancer diagnosis, consider the concept that ‘out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength’ and discuss strategies to build resilience.
