SUMMARY:Online blood cancer support groups
DESCRIPTION:The Leukaemia Foundation runs regular online support groups\, free of charge and 100% confidential. \nThey are facilitated by an experienced Blood Cancer Support Coordinator.\nThe support groups cover a range of subjects. Upcoming support groups for February and March are outlined below. \n16 February –  ‘Living alongside COVID’.\nBoth blood cancer and the COVID pandemic can be described as feeling like “a marathon not a sprint”. The extended nature of the pandemic has caused many physical\, emotional and financial challenges\, particularly for those living with blood cancer. In this group\, we’ll discuss the long term impact\, with a focus on how to balance living life while managing your health during a time of uncertainty. This is not meant to be a medical information session\, rather a discussion on the impact the pandemic has had on our wellbeing.\nFor more information and to register\, please see HERE. \n4\, 17\, 23 March – Managing fatigue \nCancer-related fatigue is a common experience for people living with blood cancer. It’s important to understand what causes it and how it differs from general fatigue.  Apart from the obvious physical impact on everyday life\, it can also affect mental health and functioning.  During this session\, we explore expectations and understanding of fatigue\, management strategies and where to seek professional support.  Together\, we will share our personal experience\, knowledge and resources to assist one another in managing fatigue.\nFor more information and to register\, please see HERE. \nPlease note that it is important to register early as numbers are limited. \n\n\n\nDate\nTime (AEDT)\nTopic\n\n\n16 February\n7.00pm-8.30pm\nLiving alongside COVID\n\n\n4 March\n12:00pm – 1:30pm\nManaging fatigue\n\n\n17 March\n7.00pm-8.30pm\nManaging fatigue\n\n\n23 March\n7.00pm-8.30pm\nYoung adults blood cancer support group:\nManaging fatigue\n\n\n\nTo register\, and for more information\, please see the attached link to the Leukaemia Foundation’s website. \nShare to:
