SUMMARY:Seminar - watch and wait

The aim of the day is to educate people about MPNs and the impact they can have on patients and their families. It also serves to encourage early detection\, diagnosis and treatment. MPN is a complex condition and it is also crucial to understand the different types\, their symptoms\, diagnostic methods and available treatment options. \nThe MPN AA thanks Asher Packman for offering this meditation. \n  \nShare to:

SUMMARY:Online support groups September
DESCRIPTION:Leukaemia Foundation online support groups\n\n\nThese free online groups are for blood cancer patients and are run by the Leukaemia Foundation. They are a wonderful source of support and sharing of knowledge. \nTopics vary each month and the Leukaemia Foundation usually runs groups such as: \n\na general blood cancer group (daytime and evening)\na mens’ group\n\nNumbers are limited so it’s important to register early. \nThe topic for September is Watch and wait \n“Watch and wait\, also known as ‘active monitoring’ is a term that can be misleading and anxiety provoking.  Active monitoring is often the recommended approach for those diagnosed with chronic or low-grade blood cancer. \nMany people experience uncertainty being in a ‘holding pattern’\, not knowing if or when they may need treatment. It can be hard to relate to others having chemotherapy or get the level of understanding or support from others you need. In this group\, we will discuss the physical and psychological effects of this approach as well as strategies to assist in managing.” \nDates are as follows: \n\n\n\nDate\nTime\nTopic\n\n\n20 September 2023\n12 -1.30pm\nWatch and wait\n\n\n\nGroup sizes are limited so registration is essential. \nREGISTER HERE for 20 September \nPlease check for start time in your state.\n \n12 – 1.30pm – NSW / VIC / ACT / TAS / QLD\n11.30am – 1pm – SA / NT\n10am – 11.30am – WA \nThings you need to know to participate: \n\nYou must be 18 years or older and have a blood cancer diagnosis or be the carer or support person of someone with that diagnosis.\nSupport groups close 15 minutes after start time. If you arrive after this\, you’ll be unable to join.\nWe ask you abide by the principles of privacy\, confidentiality and respect.\nIf you don’t receive a confirmation email of your registration\, please check your junk or spam folders.\nIf you have trouble joining the meeting\, this instructional video may help – Joining a Zoom meeting.\n\n\nShare to:
