The Leukaemia Foundation runs regular online support groups, free of charge and 100% confidential.
They are facilitated by an experienced Blood Cancer Support Coordinator.
Upcoming support groups for September are about ‘Fear of Blood Cancer Recurrence’.
One of the greatest concerns for people living with blood cancer is the worry of blood cancer returning or in the case of MPN patients, the fear of the MPN progressing to myelofibrosis or acute myeloid leukaemia. Subsequent feelings of fear, uncertainty and anxiety are very common. For some, these feelings are mild, for others they are significant and may impact on quality of life. Living with these feelings can be really challenging. In this group, we will have the opportunity to explore these feelings in a safe and supportive space, as well as discuss strategies to help manage living with this uncertainty.
