The Leukaemia Foundation advises that ‘A blood cancer diagnosis can have a significant psychological impact on your health and wellbeing. Feelings of anxiety, low mood, loss of control and fear are very common and can occur at any time after diagnosis. This can be difficult to talk about and hard to find the right support, especially when everyone says you are doing well.

Join us as we explore how your mental health can be affected by blood cancer and what you can do about it.’

Guest Speaker: Dr Charlotte Tottman (Clinical Psycho-Oncologist)
Dr Tottman provides psychological treatment for cancer-related distress. Charlotte works with cancer patients, their family members, and carers, at all stages of their cancer experience.

You will hear about:

  • Common psychological issues associated with a cancer diagnosis
  • Immediate and long-term impact
  • ‘Less known’ psychological effects, e.g: survivor guilt / loss of body confidence
  • Strategies to support you and your family
  • Resources available
