MPNs are rare blood cancers. In Australia, they affect an estimated 2,000 Australians each year. That rarity has consequences: fewer clinical trials, fewer dedicated researchers, and far less funding compared with more common cancers. Yet the impact on patients is lifelong, often complex, and in some cases life?shortening.
This is why the MPN Alliance Australia has now opened a charitable fund. We can direct donations specifically toward Australian MPN research, patient support, and advocacy. Rare cancers struggle for visibility, and without targeted funding, progress is slow. Your support helps change that.
If you’d like to contribute, tax deductible donations can now be made directly to the MPN Alliance Australia fund.
Every contribution—large or small—helps build momentum for better treatments, better understanding, and better outcomes for people living with MPNs.
One of the most powerful things you can do is simply share this message. Because MPNs are rare, many people have never heard of them. Awareness grows person by person, network by network. Passing this on could be the reason someone learns, donates, or gets the support they need.
Thank you for helping us mark Rare Cancer Day in a way that truly makes a difference.
